Macià Blázquez-Salom

(Madrid, 1965) is geographer (University of the Balearic Islands, 1989), MSc on Regional Planning (University of Aberdeen, 1993) and PhD in geography (UIB, 1996). He works as lecturer of geography at the UIB since 1995. His research deals on uneven development, capitalism, tourism, nature conservation and sustainability. He belongs to the Research Group on Sustainability and Territory, GIST. He is activist of the ecologist movement from the Balearic Group of Ornithology and Nature Conservation, GOB, to which he belongs since 1986. He represents this group at the Technical Committee of Urban and Regional Planning of the Mallorcan local authority (Consell de Mallorca) since 2001.

Ismael Yrigoy

He received his degree from Geography from the University of the Balearic Islands (2009). He holds a Master in Territorial and Population studies in the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2010). Currently he is a PhD student in Human Geography at the University of the Balearic Islands, where he studies the processes of urban renewal in tourism spots and its adaptation to the current crisis period.
